AFMS  

The Acadiana Flow Measurement Society(AFMS) was started in 1965 by a group of pipeline and production personnel with help from the University of Southwest Louisiana, USA. The society was chartered to advance the study of measurement. The original focus of the group was gas measurement. However, the society has since expanded to include liquid and NGL measurement.

AFMS is a non-profit organization, with all proceeds used to operate the society and provide measurement training. The society has strengthened its ties to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. A scholarship fund is established for the College of Engineering, Industrial Technology. This scholarship is presented to a local high school graduate each year. We hope to encourage graduates to investigate and possibly choose oil and gas measurement as a career opportunity.

American Society of Agronomy, Crop Science Society of America, Soil Science Society of America  

The American Society of Agronomy (ASA) is a prominent international scientific society headquartered in Madison, Wisconsin. Because of their common interests, ASA, the Crop Science Society of America (CSSA), and the Soil Science Society of America (SSSA) share a close working relationship as well as the same headquarters office staff. Each of the three Societies is autonomous, has its own bylaws, and is governed by its own Board of Directors. Dimensional Metrology Standards Consortium  

The mission of Dimensional Metrology Standards Consortium (DMSC, Inc.) is to identify urgently needed standards in the field of dimensional metrology, and to promote, foster, and encourage the development and interoperability of these standards, along with related and supporting standards that will benefit the industry as a whole.

The Dimensional Measuring Interface Standard (DMIS) is one such standard that the consortium has the responsibility to develop, maintain and support as well as to coordinate and harmonize with other related standards efforts. The DMSC invites participation within the consortium of other standards groups and activities that seek to resolve the technology and other issues of automated dimensional metrology.
